The Meal Assembly Industry at a glance:

What is meal assembly? Meal Assembly is a good balance between a home cooked meal and fast food. In most cases you would choose from a menu of available items as well as a session time - or a pick up time. At that point you would show up to the kitchen where they have 'prep tables'. In a prep table, all of the ingredients are laid out for you to choose from. You can add a little more garlic than the recipe calls for or a little less cheese. It's all up to your family's preference....after all, you know them best! After you've prepared all of your meals, you would then take them home and freeze them.

Throughout the month (depending on how many meals you have purchased), you would defrost a meal in the fridge before leaving for work. When you get home you would follow the instructions provided to prepare the meal. All of the messy work was done at the Meal Assembly Kitchen, not in your kitchen! The prep time was also taken care of earlier, so your time involved in this meal is pretty much just 'cook time'.

This is a much healthier alternative to fast food as you choose what goes into your meal and it's the same ingredients you would have purchased anyway. Meal Assembly has also become very popular for vacationers.
